Even though I have been physically active the vast majority of my life, it wasn't until several years ago that I became truly dedicated to being physically fit. This dedication was the result of several different exercise regimens including MMA, crossfit, and triathlon training. What remained constant in all of these disciplines is the community training aspect. Whether it was training with a group or just knowing I was part of a team, community-based training motivated me to give it my all at every workout. The benefits of being part of a fitness-based community inspired me to get in the ring. They inspired me to run that race. They inspired me to earn my personal training certification and they inspired me to create Elemental Training Tampa with the hope of inspiring others to be physically fit and create a community for like minded people.

The Day Has Arrived

OH HAPPY DAY! The new podcast from ETT will premiere this Monday (6/13) on iTunes and Google Play. We have several great debut episodes for you including an interview with celebrity fitness trainer Vinnie Tortorich. Rebranding

I’m sure all of you are saying to yourselves “Monday is almost over, and I haven’t seen a new ETT Wrap Show posted?!” I’m here to tell you that the podcast is currently undergoing a metamorphosis of sorts. Even though Shannon and I are doing a little tinkering with certain aspects of the show, the consistent subject matter of fitness & health will remain the same. Here’s a little teaser to hold you all over till the debut of the new and improved podcast.

A History of Women in Fighting Sports),  Cris “Cyborg” Justino and how the image of women in the ring and in the gym has evolved. We Finally Got Our Swag

Just want to clarify that when I say swag, I’m not talking about swagger. We’ve had that for a while. I’m referring to the first incarnation of the ETT workout shirt. I want to send a big thank you out to my cousin Tyler for the shirt design and CustomInk for getting us the shirts before last weekend’s Mud Endeavor. I only got a small order this time around but I plan on ordering more. Would you rock an ETT shirt? What style shirt do you prefer to workout in (tank, sleeveless, etc.)?

ETT Wrap Show Ep.17

This week’s episode features a recap of ETT’s first team competition, the Mud Endeavor 5k. I discuss the highlights, and a few lowlights, from the race including how I averted severely injuring myself. In addition to the recap, Shannon and I discuss sleep supplements, The Biggest Loser TV show and why the quality of your calories is more important than the quantity of your calories. Also, just so you’re not caught off guard, Shannon and I spout out a few risqué words in this episode. What can I say? We get emotional sometimes.
